The Effingham Public Library explores WWI through movies!
November 1, 2017 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Join the Effingham Public Library for our 1st Wednesday Movies series from now until June. This monthly series of 10 films, which are generally both eclectic and not the usual TV offerings, is catered to our adult patrons. The screening time is 6:30pm and the movie is viewed on the library’s 70 inch flat screen TV. After a brief introduction, each film is about two hours in duration. Free popcorn is available!
This year’s series will explore how Hollywood has treated the topic of World War One over the past 100 years. In addition, for those who may arrive a little early, an exhibit of World War One items on loan from the Effingham Historical and Preservation Societies, as well as generous library patrons, is currently on display. The 1st Wednesday Movie series is always free and open to the public and this year is part of a series of programs and events to be held at the Effingham Public Library to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the United States’ involvement in World War One. And do not worry, for those who missed any movie in the series, a DVD should soon be available to check-out of the library!
The Library is located at 30 Town House Road in Center Effingham, just up the hill from the intersection of Town House Road and Province Lake Road (Route 153 South), in the Historic Effingham Town Hall.
For more information on the 1st Wednesday Movie series, call the Library at 603-539-1537 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
