Shopping in Cornish is quite an interesting experience. That's because much of what you will find in our shops is unique and original one-of-a-kind items. As you may already know, quality craftsmanship is synonymous with the state of Maine. It's pretty darned hard to find a Maine-made product that is less than high quality! People often question why that is so, and the best answer we can give them is that we have long winters up here. The best way to keep your fingers from freezing is by keeping them busy!!
Anyway, another quality you'll find about us Mainers is that we are pack rats. That's right, pack rats!! We love to acquire things and store them in the attic where we'll forget about them year after year. We've been doing it for generations upon generations. So you can just imagine all the wonderful items we've kept stored in excellent condition with the exception of all the dust that's collected over time! Lucky for you, many can now be found in our numerous antique shops. Stop by and walk the aisles to find those special items to complete your collection or to be given as special gifts to friends or family members. If you're an antiques buff, you'll be disappointed in yourself for not attending the outdoor Antiques Show in August of each year at the Cornish Fairgrounds.
Now if you're one of those people who stops to shop only out of necessity, you'll want to visit Cornish on your way to the White Mountains of New Hampshire or to the beaches of York and Cumberland counties of Maine. We are conveniently located midway between the two. Our convenience stores are loaded with the items for your traveling pleasure as well as for satisfying your short-term hunger and thirst. We even have food for your chariot, whether it be gasoline or diesel fuel. We pretty much have everything you want or need for whatever reason, in any season.
